Remedify
Automated accessibility QA and suggested fixes you review
Remedify is automated accessibility QA and suggested fixes designed for Shopify storefronts. It scans your published theme, flags common accessibility issues that automated checks can detect, and proposes fixes you preview, apply, and roll back when supported — while theme-sensitive cases stay guided with file hints and source excerpts when available. Findings are automated and scoped: they may miss issues a manual or assistive-technology review would catch, so treat them as a starting point you review, not a determination that your store is accessible or compliant.
Why merchants choose it
Find issues automatically
Remedify scans your storefront's key templates on desktop and mobile — including opened menus and drawers — and flags common, machine-detectable WCAG issues, each with its location and a plain-language explanation.
Fix with review, not guesswork
Preview each suggested fix as a before/after diff, apply the supported ones you approve, and roll back cleanly. Alt text is drafted for you to review before it is written back through the Files API, and an alt coverage meter tracks your whole image catalog.
Monitor and keep a record
Scheduled re-scans catch regressions after theme and catalog changes, an in-app notification center keeps changes visible, and a dated scan-and-fix history — exportable as CSV or PDF — keeps track of what you found and what you applied.
Ask questions as you work
Kai, the built-in AI assistant, answers questions about your scan results, suggested fixes, and workflow in plain language — right inside the app, grounded in your store's own findings.
Designed for Shopify
It is built around minimal scopes, merchant-reviewed changes, and Shopify-native surfaces. The workflow stays focused on storefront accessibility, not customer or order data.

What it does
Scans that see what shoppers see
Remedify renders your published storefront in a real browser and scans each key template at desktop and mobile sizes, including safe interactive states such as opened navigation menus and drawers — so issues hidden behind a tap or hover are surfaced too. Coverage is reported honestly: a finding is only marked resolved when a full re-scan actually confirms it.
Automatic alt text via the Files API
Remedify finds product and theme images that lack a text alternative and proposes alt text for each, written back through the Shopify Files API once you approve it. Decorative images are flagged so you can skip them, and an image alt coverage meter tracks progress across your entire catalog. Every write-back is a change you confirm, and it lands in your dated scan-and-fix history.
Safe, additive app-embed fixes
Where an issue can be corrected safely, Remedify supports additive app-embed fixes such as accessible names, roles, and relationships. Theme-sensitive cases are surfaced as guided changes instead of being silently rewritten, so the workflow improves the storefront without relying on a runtime overlay.
Guided theme changes for contrast, titles, headings, and language
Some issues need a human decision: low color contrast, missing or unclear page titles, broken heading order, and an unset page language. Remedify surfaces each one with the scanned page, selector, rendered HTML, likely theme files, and, when it can map the finding back to a published theme asset, a short source excerpt with line numbers and the matched token highlighted.
Automated QA report / scan history
Every scan and every applied fix is recorded with a date, so you build an exportable scan-and-fix history over time. Export it as CSV or PDF — including a drafted accessibility statement built from your store's actual record, for you to review before you use it. It documents what was scanned, what was suggested, and what you applied — for your own records and developer handoff. It does not certify your store, does not mean your store is fully accessible or legally compliant, and is not a compliance guarantee.
Kai, the built-in assistant
Kai is an AI assistant inside Remedify that answers questions about your scan results, suggested fixes, and next steps in plain language, grounded in your store's own findings. It proposes; you decide — nothing is changed on your store without your review.
Pricing
Billing is handled through Shopify managed billing — no separate checkout. Start with a free scan of your storefront to see what Remedify can surface, then start the 14-day trial to use the full fix workflow — suggested fixes with preview / apply / roll back and AI-drafted alt text — before you pay. The paid plan keeps scheduled monitoring active and unlocks scan-and-fix history export (CSV / PDF).
Frequently asked questions
- Is this an accessibility overlay or widget?
- No. Remedify does not bolt a widget onto your storefront to mask issues. It flags issues in your theme and content and suggests fixes you review and apply to the underlying store.
- Will Remedify make my store accessible or compliant?
- No — and no tool can promise that. Remedify runs automated checks that catch a limited subset of accessibility issues and suggests fixes you review. It does not certify your store, does not mean your store is fully accessible or legally compliant, and is not a compliance guarantee. Treat its findings as a reviewed starting point, not a legal determination.
- What do the automated scans actually catch?
- The machine-detectable subset of WCAG issues — roughly a third of the success criteria. Things like missing alt text, low contrast, unset page language, and structural problems. Issues that need human judgment are surfaced with a recommendation rather than auto-applied.
- Do I keep the fixes if I uninstall?
- Alt text and data changes you approved stay in your store. Additive app-embed blocks are removed cleanly on uninstall. You lose future scans, monitoring, and the review dashboard.
- Does it slow down my storefront?
- Remedify avoids a runtime accessibility widget. Supported fixes live in your data and app-embed config rather than adding a heavy shopper-facing layer.
- What data does Remedify access?
- Only what the accessibility workflow needs — storefront/theme content and product images. It is designed to avoid customer and order scopes.
- What's in the export?
- A dated record of what was scanned, what Remedify suggested, and what you applied — a scan-and-fix history for your own records and developer handoff, available as CSV or PDF and including a drafted accessibility statement you review before using. Exports are part of the paid plan.
- How does the trial work?
- The 14-day trial includes the full fix workflow — suggested fixes with preview, apply, and roll back, plus AI-drafted alt text — so you can watch your issue count drop before you pay. Scan-and-fix history export and ongoing scheduled monitoring are part of the paid plan.
